Auditions for Trigger Warning

Zeitgeist Stage announces auditions for roles in their spring production 2019, Trigger Warning by Jacques Lamarre. Auditions are Monday & Tuesday, October 1 & 2 at the Plaza Black Box Theater at the Boston Center for the Arts..


Trigger Warning will look at how a mass shooting impacts one family - that of the shooter. Were there warning signs that were ignored? Could they have done anything to stop this senseless act? Can they face a community that once was home and now reviles them? Is there anything this family can offer a devastated nation other than thoughts and prayers?

Performance Dates:

Wednesday through Sunday, April 12 thru May 4, 2019 at the Plaza Black Box Theater at the Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremont St, Boston.


Trigger Warning will be a World Premiere, as it is a new play commissioned by Zeitgeist Stage. Towards that end, there will be number of readings for an invited audience and/or the public. These readings will most likely take place in November/December and February/March. These readings will require some rehearsal time and availability for the readings themselves (To Be Scheduled).

Rehearsal Location:

In the greater Boston area

Rehearsal Start Date:

Mid-March. Schedule is Sunday through Thursday evenings. May include some day rehearsals on Saturday & Sunday during March.

Roles Available :

• JACKIE - late 30s/early 40s. TRAVIS' mother. A realtor.

• ANDREW "MURPH" MURPHY - late 30s/early 40s. TRAVIS' father and husband to JACKIE. A contractor.

• AMY - Early 30s, TRAVIS' aunt, JACKIE's sister.

• CONROY BATTS – M/F, 50s/60s, attorney.

• DALE PELLETIER – M/F, 40s/50s, FBI agent.

• MEGHAN – 15/16, TRAVIS’ sister. Hurt in the shooting
(TRAVIS is the shooter and is killed in the shooting, therefore is not a character in the play.)

Audition Information


Monday & Tuesday, October 1 & 2, from 7 to 9:00 PM


Plaza Black Box Theater at the Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremont St in Boston’s South End.


Open to Non-Equity performers. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. There is a stipend for actors. The script is not yet published. A perusal copy of the script is available at click here
